What is the moment—or the series of small moments—that first pulled you into the world of lash artistry, and how did you know this path was meant for you?
The moment that truly stands out for me was during beauty school—specifically, lash extension week. While most of the class quickly realized lashes weren’t for them, I had the opposite reaction. I remember sitting down to complete my first full set and completely disappearing into the work. Time felt suspended. I was focused, calm, and fully immersed in the process until the set was finished.
That experience was my quiet confirmation. It wasn’t just something I could do—it was something I genuinely enjoyed. That sense of being “in my own world” while creating something so detailed and personal made it clear this was a craft I was meant to pursue.
Can you share a story from your early days in lashing that shaped the way you treat your clients or run your studio today?
I came into this industry knowing I was imperfect—and honestly, that hasn’t changed. I tend to approach everything in life with a desire to do my best, even while learning along the way, and lashing was no different. What surprises me most, even now, is the number of clients who have stayed with me since the very beginning.
Early on, transparency was both necessary and challenging. Being a new artist meant navigating mistakes in real time—whether it was placement, styling, or even appointment logistics. Those moments weren’t easy, but they taught me something invaluable: we’re all human. When issues arose, I believed in giving grace, clear communication, and a genuine effort to make things right—for both the client and myself.
That mindset shaped everything that followed. It’s why trust, honesty, and mutual understanding are still at the foundation of how I work today.
What keeps you passionate about lashing every day?
What keeps me passionate about lashing is the balance between creativity and care—every set is different, every client brings something unique, and I still love the quiet focus and precision the work requires. The industry itself continues to inspire me; with new techniques and ideas always emerging, I’m never doing the same work I was ten years ago. That constant evolution keeps me moving forward, and to this day I’m just as eager—if not more—to learn and grow as I was when I first started.
What made you decide to try Lynk-Gel?
When the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology deregulated lash extensions, it became a turning point for me. I felt a strong responsibility to level up my craft, knowing the industry was about to change rapidly. With more people entering lashing—often without structure or oversight—I wanted to ensure that my work stood apart through education, safety, and intention.
Lynk-Gel represented that next step. It wasn’t just about adopting a new system, but about committing to a higher standard—one rooted in precision, longevity, and client care. Choosing Lynk-Gel aligned with my desire to continue growing while protecting the integrity of my work and the trust my clients place in me.
What part of the client experience do you value the most, and how do you intentionally create that feeling for everyone who lies on your table?
The part of the client experience I value most is creating a sense of safety and comfort. I want every client who lies on my table to know—without question—that they are in a safe space. Their comfort always comes first, because if someone feels uneasy, I can’t fully focus on my work with the care and precision it deserves.
I create that feeling through intention: clear communication, a calm environment, and attentiveness to both spoken and unspoken needs. When clients feel relaxed and supported, trust naturally follows, and that trust allows the experience—and the results—to be truly meaningful.
What challenges—technical, emotional, or business-related—have taught you the most in your career, and how have they changed your approach?
I’m challenged every day, and I’ve come to see that as a gift rather than an obstacle. Some of my greatest lessons have come not from isolated moments, but from staying open—to learning from the people I surround myself with, from artists I meet at trade shows, and from colleagues across the industry.
Those experiences have reshaped my approach. They’ve taught me to remain open-minded, to evolve without ego, and to lead with grace—both with others and with myself. That mindset influences how I work, how I collaborate, and how I continue to grow, allowing each challenge to refine my craft rather than limit it.
Looking back, which milestone in your lash journey makes you the proudest, and what did it take to get there?
Looking back, the milestone I’m most proud of is becoming certified in the Lynk-Gel Method. Like many artists, my very first lash training left gaps—I think most of us begin there. Choosing to pursue certification in an entirely new method was intimidating. It meant traveling out of state, bringing a friend for support, and allowing myself to be uncomfortable in a room where excellence was expected.
That experience required humility, openness, and trust in the process—and it became one of the most impactful trainings I’ve ever taken. It reshaped how I view education and growth. Since then, I’ve made it a priority to seek out truly talented artists and mentors who are willing to share their knowledge, knowing that real progress often begins where comfort ends.
What's your favorite illumino product you can't live without?
Without hesitation, the Lynk-Gel Glue and Device. Together, they’ve completely transformed how I work—offering unmatched control, consistency, and confidence with every set. The system allows me to focus fully on precision and artistry, knowing I’m working with products I trust implicitly.
Final Thoughts
Ten years into this industry, I still feel like I’m just now stepping into a level of confidence that once felt out of reach. Maybe that comes from experience, or maybe it’s simply learning to quiet my own insecurities. I don’t measure success by influence or visibility—my clients have always been my greatest validation.
I don’t know exactly what the future holds, and I’m okay with that. I’m choosing to be present, to enjoy where I am right now, and to stay open to what’s next. My message to fellow artists is simple: take the class, invest in the training, say yes to growth even when it feels uncomfortable. You only get one journey—make the most of it.
